The Greek goddess of wisdom, Athene, was often depicted with an owl, as was her Roman counterpart Minerva. This owl pendant was originally a vintage silver plated brooch (circa 1910). Our jeweler transformed the owl by removing the pin stem and welding on a sterling silver bail. The owl's face has red glass eyes and the piece measures 1. 65 inches from top to bottom by 1. 3 inches wide.
